High speed poultry processing lines present great challenges in maintaining quality control. With line speeds approaching 180 birds per minute, the human eye cannot be expected to identify all the quality issues that can be encountered in a processing line. Visual screening is complex and made more so by repetition, fatigue and the distractions of a processing plant.

Gainco's Dynamic Vision System™ improves quality control while removing the possibility of human error. Using software designed by Georgia Institute of Technology, the system composed of a state-of-the-art digital camera and control system to identify septicemia toxemia (sep/tox) and screens birds with kill line defects such as:
