WeighMaster™ Overhead Sizing and Distribution Systems
Performance that Proves Itself Every Day
Since 1986, Gainco has been an industry leader in providing poultry overhead sizing and distribution systems. Many of those early systems are still in operation today. We take great pride in the robustness and reliability of our systems.
WeighMaster™ overhead sizing and distribution systems from Gainco deliver optimum levels of accuracy and cost-saving performance in poultry processing facilities. They accurately size and allocate whole birds to various points along the overhead line according to weight, grade or other parameters selected by the operator.
Our overhead sizers for chicken and turkey are so effective, most of them have payback period of less than one year, making them the obvious choice for new or retrofit overhead units.
Our technical specialists are available to help you in any way you need – from opportunity identification to project scoping and feasibility ... and on to implementation, startup and post-installation support.
Benefits that go Beyond the Ordinary
Consider all the benefits you gain with a WeighMaster™ overhead sizing and distribution system from Gainco:
High return on investment and quick payback period.
Low installation cost ... low cost of ownership.
Capable of line speeds more than 100 feet per minute.
Multiple production schedules can be housed, making scheduling changes fast and easy.
Flexible bird distribution means the right birds are delivered to the right destination.
Extended range capabilities assure that bird-per-minute goals are achieved.
Real-time process information for display and reporting.
A maintenance-friendly system, with easy accessibility for service.
Putting Our Performance on the Line
The difference between WeighMaster™ overhead sizing and distribution systems and those of our competitors comes down to the little design details that really count. Our high-speed scale unit is just one example:
The overhead scale weighs broilers within an accuracy of +/- 0.5 percent of true weight, 95% of the time.
The scale unit is isolated from the track to significantly reduce the effects of vibration, with built-in overload protection also.
A horseshoe weigh deck design enables direct weight transfer for improved accuracy at higher speeds.
Crossed-shackle detection prevents weigh deck damage and downtime.
Individually recorded shackle tare weights eliminate the need to use exact weight shackles.
An extended entrance ramp minimizes product swinging and related recording errors.
The design features of the WeighMaster™ system's bird loaders and unloaders are also noteworthy:
Automated unloaders are mounted downstream from the scale at desired drop point on the overhead line.
Engineered specifically to interact with weighing shackles, the unloaders employ heavy-duty air cylinder rods for extended life and reduced upkeep costs.
Dual guide bars minimize product swinging and assure reliable discharge for individual or group drops.
Pre-set unloading of product in specified bins alternates to other bins when one is filled – without stopping or slowing the line.
Another special design feature of the WeighMaster™ overhead sizer includes through-beam resynchronization sensors that recount passing shackles and compensate for line stretch or uneven line wear, so drops will always activate at just the right moment. They're fully adjustable for quick, easy positioning.

Accurate Measuring ... Accurate Reporting
We've designed our WeighMaster™ systems to give you the tools you need to take the guesswork out of yield management. System flexibility is the watchword.
The result? Our system will enable you to meet whatever your production requirements may be – however straightforward or complex.
In the poultry processing industry, "one size" doesn't fit all. So we offer various configurations to meet the needs of individual plants.
Service You Can Count On
As an integral part on your plant operations, we understand the importance of ensuring the availability of your systems. Blue Ribbon Service, our service unit, is always there to ensure that your system is properly maintained to maximize line performance and eliminate downtime. We offer the following services:
24/7/365 phone support to ensure you can always talk to a technical adviser.
Remote online diagnostics capability to help you diagnose and correct issues.
Preventive maintenance contracts to routinely inspect, adjust, calibrate and address any issues with your system.
Emergency service vans that are available for immediate dispatch to your plant.
Better accuracy. More dependability. Lower costs.
Just think. When you don't have to worry about underperforming overhead systems, you can focus 100% of your effort instead on delivering top quality products. Plus, you'll have better productivity and higher plant profits.

Missed Bird Detector ... a WeighMaster® Exclusive
Our exclusive, powerful missed bird detection option on WeighMaster™ utilizes sensors located past the last drop point to detect the presence of product that did not drop – a "missed bird."
Special controller software allows birds to retain their original grade if left online ... and accounts for missed or unassigned birds in the production totals.
It also serves as an early warning device for mechanical problems at a drop point, making it easier and quicker to resolve distribution problems.
